The Wall of COP22 at Daniel Webster School

The 5 grade students at Daniel Webster School participated in creating The Wall of COP22

as they develop their awareness on our environment these workshop teach them about climate change, recycle, sustainability, environmental art and how to be an environmental citizen.

The students learn about different materials that are harming the environment like, plastic.

I took them on a journey first using plastic bags to create Ms. Plastic using, yarn, plastic bags, and fabrics. Next was Ms. Paper material we used were newspaper, magazine and yarn. Finally we created a bag out of newspaper, fabric and postcards. During the class we had discussions on the importance on recycling and they replied to students in the Maldives by writing about they concerns and ideas to save the Maldives. Their letters are currently posted on our blog.

The students understood the connection with global warming and the environment. They also are aware of and understood how everything is connect like paper comes from trees and it takes years for a tree to grow. So we all need to be conscious on how we utilize materials like plastic and paper so we can care for our planet.
