COP22 Update

COP22 in Morocco kicked off on November 7, 2016 for two weeks international leaders organizations and advisers will work together on how to implement a global climate agreement.

Our biggest fear is President-elect Donald Trump pledges to pull the US out and cancel the global deal agreed at the last talks in Paris. On Tuesday, November 16 the US delegation agreed to accept a petition calling for fossil fuel lobbyists to be excluded from the talks. 2016 will very likely be the hottest year on record and a new high for the third year in a row, according to the UN. It means 16 of the 17 hottest years on record will have been this century. The UN secretary-general, Ban Ki-moon, said on Tuesday that action on climate change has become “unstoppable“, and he expressed hopes that US president-elect, Donald Trump, would drop plans to quit a global accord aimed at weaning the world off fossil fuels.
